Three-time Olympic skeet gold medalist Vincent Hancock won the Men’s Skeet National Championship at the 2022 USA Shooting Shotgun Nationals. The competition was held August 1-6, at Hillsdale College’s John A. Halter Shooting Sports Center in Hillsdale, Michigan.
Hancock, who hails from Texas, earned the title of USA Shooting Men’s Skeet National Champion with a total aggregate score of 251. In addition, Hancock had the highest score entering the final (248) after the 10 qualification rounds.
The runner-up in the 2022 USA Shooting Men’s Skeet National Championship was Connor Prince with a total aggregate score of 244. Another Texas resident, Prince walked away from the Halter Center at Hillsdale College with a silver medal after winning a shoot-off.
In third place with a total aggregate score of 244 at the this year's USA Shooting Skeet Nationals was Christian Elliot. A resident of Indiana, Elliot was in the shoot-off after a tie to take the bronze medal.
The USA Shooting Skeet World Championship team was selected from national championship scores and also from the selection match held in Tucson earlier this year. The Men’s World Cup Skeet team includes Vincent Hancock, Dustan Taylor and Christian Elliott, while the Women’s Skeet roster features Dania Vizzi, Sam Simonton and Austen Smith.
The 2022 Shotgun World Championships will be conducted September 19 to October 12, in Osijek, Croatia.
