
USA Shooting captured six medals at the 2025 ISSF World Cup in Buenos Aires, Argentina, held April 1-11.
The competition was highlighted by a dramatic shoot-off between Dania Vizzi, a Paris 2024 Olympian, and six-time Olympic medalist Kimberly Rhode for gold in the Women’s Skeet final.
Vizzi and Rhode secured their spots in the final with qualification scores of 119/125 and 120/125, respectively. The duo delivered a captivating final, battling for gold and silver after both shooting an overall score of 53. Vizzi won the shoot-off to top the podium.

Christian Elliott, a Staff Sgt. in the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, doubled America’s gold medal count with his epic performance in the Men’s Skeet event. Elliott, the 2019 Pan American Games Champion, shot a qualification score of 120/125, landing him in the final. Elliott went on to shoot an incredible final, walking away with a score of 58/60 and besting Gabriele Rossetti of Italy, who took silver. Elliott’s medal marks his first-ever individual World Cup gold, increasing his international medal count to eight.
The trap team showed its strength, bringing home a total of three medals as well. Glenn Eller, an Olympic bronze medalist and a Sgt. 1st Class in the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, reached the podium with a silver in Men’s Trap. Will Hinton, a Paris 2024 Olympian and Staff Sgt. in the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, claimed the bronze, doubling Team USA’s podium presence. Eller and Hinton earned their spots on the final by shooting qualification scores of 119/125 and 121/125, respectively. Hinton and Ava Downs paired up for the Mixed Trap team event and earned fifth place.
Carey Garrison, a two-time Junior World Championship medalist, captured her first individual World Cup medal in the open age category with a silver in Women’s Trap. Garrison, a 2024 Junior Women’s Trap World Cup champion, made her way into the final by shooting a qualification score of 119/125. Garrison proved her strength by beating Wan-Yu Liu of Chinese Taipei who finished third.
The ISSF World Cup also held rifle and pistol events where the U.S. had notable finishes. Mary Tucker, Tokyo 2020 silver Olympic medalist, finished seventh overall in Women’s 10m Air Rifle. Peter Fiori, a Paris 2024 Olympic team alternate, placed eighth overall in Men’s 10m Air Rifle. Tucker and Fiori shot the Mixed team Air Rifle event finishing in fifth place. In addition, Lucas Kozeniesky, the Tokyo 2020 silver Olympic medalist and Elizabeth Schmeltzer finished just behind Tucker and Fiori in sixth place.
