Team Savage’s Matt Alwine topped the Production division for both the 2024 Precision Rifle Series (PRS) Finale and Season, making PRS history in the process.
The 2024 PRS Finale took place in Mountain Home, Idaho, from November 2-3. Claiming the top spot in Production division, Alwine’s final score of 195.00 also gave him second place on the overall leaderboard. His score was only five points behind the match winner, Open division shooter Ben Gossett.
Alwine’s runner-up finish with a production rifle marks the best finish in the history of the PRS Championship with a production rifle. He finished 30 spots higher than anyone else shooting a production rifle.
He shoots a Savage 110 Elite Precision bolt-action rifle chambered in 6 mm Creedmoor with a Leupold Mark 5HD 5-25X 56 mm optic.
“I love the fact that I’m able to compete with the best in the world with a completely factory rifle,” Alwine said. “I look forward to another great season on Team Savage and continuing to push what’s possible with a production rifle.”
Alwine has produced several dominant performances this year, including a top finish in Production division at the Precision Rifle Series Central Coast Chaos match and topping the overall field at the NRL High Desert Hunter competition in Vernal, Utah, in May.
“Matt’s historic finish this season and consistent dominance for the last several years has continued to showcase how the precision of Savage rifles is an asset to shooters ... and of course the rare talent and dedication Matt brings to the line every time,” Savage Arms Director of Marketing Beth Shimanski said.
