SK Guns recently announced the Presidente Madero, a Colt 1911 Full-Size Government model chambered in .38 Super and the fourth production gun in its Mexican “La Revolución” series. This special handgun serves as a tribute to Francisco Madero.
Limited to a production run of 300 units, Presidente Madero handguns feature a highly polished royal blue finish with selective 24k gold plating. Each pistol also includes a special engraved edition number.

Madero, the 37th president of Mexico, is a pivotal figure in Mexican history due to his role in the Mexican Revolution. His greatest achievement is widely recognized as challenging the long-standing dictatorship of Porfirio Díaz. Madero is credited with initiating democratic reforms that would transform Mexico’s political landscape.
A wealthy landowner and political activist, Madero authored “La Sucesión Presidencial en 1910” (translated: “The Presidential Succession of 1910”), where he called for fair elections and democratic governance. His ideas resonated with many Mexican citizens dissatisfied with Díaz’s authoritarian rule. When Díaz attempted to suppress his opposition, Madero led a revolutionary movement that forced Díaz’s resignation in 1911, marking a significant victory for democracy in Mexico.
As president, Madero sought to implement political and social reforms. He promoted freedom of the press, encouraged democratic participation and worked to curb the influence of elites. He also aimed to address land reform. Despite his good intentions, Madero faced significant opposition from conservatives, foreign interests and his former allies. Madero’s inability to maintain unity led to his overthrow and assassination in 1913 during La Decena Trágica (translated: Ten Tragic Days).
Retaining the common elements of the Pancho Villa, Venustiano Carranza and Pascual Orozco pistols, the “La Revolución” series continues with a depiction of the “Monument to the Revolution” in Mexico City.
Wrapped around the slide is a cannas lily, which is native to Mexico, along with an illustration of Madero in 24k gold plated on horseback with his supporters and army. The popular slogan of the Revolution, “Sufragio Efectivo No Reelección” (translated: Effective suffrage, no re-election) is engraved inside a 24k gold banner.
The right side of the slide depicts a 24k gold illustration of Presidente Madero and his advisors with the word “Triunfante” (translated: triumphant). To complete the firearm, a portrait of Madero sits on top of the slide, as well as the iconic Mexican Eagle.
“Though Madero’s presidency was short-lived, his legacy has lasted for generations,” Simon Khiabani, the owner and founder of SK Guns said. “He is an undeniably important figure in Mexico’s battle for independence and democracy, and we are proud to honor his place in the history books. His contributions are significant for Mexico and the world as a whole, and they should not be forgotten.”
MSRP starts at $3,000. The new “La Revolución” series of history-focused handguns will begin shipping in April 2025. Learn more at skguns.com.
