With the popularity of the Scholastic Clay Target Program’s virtual matches earlier this year, the group has announced the first annual SCTP Fall College Virtual Competition. Now, student-athletes can join the fun and compete against teams from schools across the country, minus the travel and expenses. Plus, the new virtual competition is free for SCTP members, as long as they are in good standing and have secured their membership prior to Tuesday, September 1. In addition, medals and plaques will be provided to the top teams and student-athletes.

The inaugural SCTP Fall College Virtual Competition will run for five weeks, from Monday, September 7 through Sunday, October 11. As for the format of the competition, there will be four divisions, including a specific one for two-year colleges. Student-athletes and teams can compete in their choice of Trap Singles, Skeet, or both. Each event will include 50 targets, or two rounds of 25 per week. Teams must submit their scores by midnight on Sunday for each week of the virtual competition.  All of the guidelines and rules can be viewed here.

According to the SCTP, registration paperwork will be available "on or about Monday, August 17. If teams need paperwork prior to that date, please reach out to Amanda Wondrash at [email protected]."

The final day to register for the 2020 SCTP Fall College Virtual Competition is Sunday, September 6. Scores for the first week must be sent to SCTP or entered by midnight Sunday, September 13. Additionally, the in-person 2020 SCTP College Nationals are slated for October 16-18 at the Cardinal Shooting Center in Marengo, Ohio. If collegiate student-athletes are unable to travel to Ohio in October, the SCTP will conduct a Virtual College Nationals. More details will be forthcoming, but in the meantime, learn more at sssfonline.org.
