Savage Arms recently announced an update to its AXIS rifle line with several new models now available.

More from the company about the updated AXIS rifle lineup: “Savage set the industry standard in 2010 with the out-of-the-box accuracy of AXIS. For more than a decade, that feat and other features on the platform have not been replicated. These new rifles are an extension of the unmatched affordable accuracy of AXIS with modern features, design and an appeal to all shooters and hunters.”

The extended line of AXIS rifles includes five new or updated models: AXIS XP, AXIS 2, AXIS 2 XP, AXIS 2 XP HARDWOOD and AXIS 2 PRO.

The new Savage Arms AXIS XP has a fresh look, improved ergonomics and is loaded with features that are standard on every new AXIS. These rifles include precision button-rifled barrels and thread-in head spacing. An updated bolt handle sports a sleek, ergonomic design that will help improve user control and comfort during operation, especially in rain or cold weather. All AXIS XP models are available for $479 and come with a factory-mounted and bore-sighted Bushnell Banner 3-9X 40 mm scope.

As for the AXIS 2, this rifle incorporates all of the features of the AXIS XP and adds the user-adjustable AccuTrigger. Look for the AXIS 2 in OD Green, Gray and FDE colors. MSRP: $489.

The AXIS 2 XP retains the functionality of the AXIS XP, while adding the user-adjustable AccuTrigger that comes with the AXIS 2. Standard features include a factory-mounted and bore-sighted Bushnell Banner 3-9X 40 mm scope with fully multi-coated lenses and tool-less windage and elevation adjustments. The AXIS 2 XP rifle is available chambered in multiple calibers, has the same stock color options as AXIS 2, and includes compact, left-hand and compact left-hand models. Available calibers for the AXIS 2 XP are .223 Rem., .22-250 Rem., .243 Win., 6.5 mm Creedmoor, 7 mm-08 Rem., .308 Win., 350 Legend, 400 Legend, .25-'06 Rem., .270 Win. and .30-'06 Sprg. MSRP: $549.

As the name suggests, Savage’s AXIS 2 XP HARDWOOD features an ergonomic hardwood stock. Laser-cut stippling on the pistol grip and fore-end should make for improved handling. The AXIS 2 XP HARDWOOD gives hunters the classic look of a walnut stock, plus the modern features of the new AXIS platform. In addition, this rifle includes a factory-mounted and bore-sighted Bushnell Banner 3-9X 40 mm scope with fully multi-coated lenses and tool-less windage and elevation adjustments. MSRP: $689.

Finally, the AXIS 2 PRO boasts all of the best features of the AXIS family. AXIS 2 PRO models showcase Savage camouflage patterns Woodland and Western with Cerakote finishes, along with a threaded barrel and one-piece rail. MSRP: $599.

“AXIS set the bar for affordability and accuracy in regards to rifles,” Beth Shimanski, director of marketing at Savage Arms said. “AXIS is built for everyone from novices to experts. We have the right rifle for anyone with options that include wood, camo, compact, left hand, multiple colors and just about every combination within that mix—all with unmatched accuracy and performance—right out of the box.”
