Blackhawk tactical athlete Zach Rodman and teammate Jared Halbert garnered a second-place finish in the Men’s Elite division at the 2022 Tactical Games Panthera, held August 27 in Old Fields, West Virginia.
The Rodman-Halbert duo walked away from the Men’s Elite Team match with a 98.68 percent score, not far behind the winning Derek Satterfield team (100 percent).
Eighty-five total teams—along with 25 individual athletes—competed at the 2022 Tactical Games Panthera in August. There were 48 teams participating in the Men’s Intermediate, Tactical, Master’s and Elite divisions.
At Tactical Games events, the contestants carry heavy weights, shoot through courses of fire and navigate difficult obstacles. With a team format, competitors can leverage their teammates’ strengths, as well as balance any weaknesses.
Rodman, who is a 15-year veteran of the Kokomo, Ind., police force and SWAT team, equipped himself with Blackhawk’s T-Series L3D holster and Foundation Series Tac Nylon gear. As for Halbert, the owner of the Tactical Games and a seven-time Men’s Elite division winner, he was using the Blackhawk T-Series L2C holster.
“It was a great event and the pieces really fell into place for me and Jared,” Rodman said. “Having gear you can always rely on is critical in the Tactical Games, the T-Series and Foundation Tac Nylon gear do a great job of keeping my sidearm secure and accessible in addition to keeping me mobile.”
Zach Rodman’s next competition will be the 2022 Tactical Games National Championship, which will take place November 4-6 at the Texas Shooting Academy in Florence, Texas.
