Springfield Armory recently announced the new Hellcat Pro Comp OSP chambered in 9 mm Luger, an integrally compensated pistol with a milled slide that can accept micro red-dot optics, which the company describes as “meticulously engineered to offer the perfect balance between concealability and capacity.”

The integral compensator on the Hellcat Pro Comp sports a single port on the top of the hammer-forged slide and barrel. Redirecting gas upwards, it reduces muzzle rise and enhances control, resulting in a pistol that delivers faster and more accurate follow-up shots. Additionally, the front sight is positioned behind the compensator for an uninterrupted sight picture.

Overall length of the Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro Comp OSP 9 mm pistol is 6.6 inches, and the weight (with flush magazine) is 21 ounces (21.4 ounces with extended 17-round magazine as pictured here).

As mentioned, the new Hellcat Pro Comp OSP was designed with the use of red-dot optics in mind. The Optical Sight Pistol (OSP) configuration has a milled slide to accept micro red-dot sights. The pistol also has a rail located on the dustcover of the frame for attaching accessories.

The Hellcat Pro Comp OSP’s barrel is 3.7 inches long (1:10-inch twist) and is made from hammer-forged steel with a melonite finish. As for the slide itself, it is billet machined and also sports a melonite finish.

Height is 4.8 inches with the flush-fitting 15-round magazine (pictured) and 5.3 inches with the 17-round extended magazine.

The frame, made from black polymer, has an adaptive grip texture. Sights are tritium (luminescent) in the front and a tactical rack u-notch rear.

The Hellcat Pro family of pistols combines the performance of a larger handgun with concealability and capacity. This compact pistol offers 15+1 rounds of 9 mm Luger in a small footprint. The Hellcat Pro also ships with a 17-round extended magazine, giving shooters the ability to carry in their preferred configuration.

“The Hellcat Pro was designed to deliver full-size performance in a concealable, EDC-ready package with unmatched ergonomics,” Springfield Armory Vice President of Marketing Steve Kramer said. “Now with the Hellcat Pro Comp, shooters have a new option that combines advanced performance with ease of concealability.”

MSRP for the Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro Comp OSP configuration is $699. Both 15-round and 10-round variants are also available for restricted locales. Go to springfield-armory.com.
