Smith & Wesson recently announced its new Performance Center M&P9 Carry Comp pistol lineup with Shield Plus, M&P 2.0 compact and M&P 2.0 full-size models available, all chambered in 9 mm Luger.

Power Port vented barrel
All M&P9 Carry Comp pistols include Smith & Wesson’s Power Port vented barrel, which diverts gas upwards to reduce felt recoil. In addition, the new ClearSight Cut on the slide is designed to divert gasses away from your red-dot optic.

The M&P9 Carry Comp series of handguns all sport Smith & Wesson’s Power Port, which is located at the end of the barrel at the 12 o’clock position, diverting gas upwards and reducing felt recoil. Also featuring optics-ready slides, if a user chooses to add a red-dot optic to a M&P9 Carry Comp pistol, the new ClearSight cut is designed to divert gasses away from the optic, which should help maintain an unobstructed view. If iron sights are preferred, these models also have a tritium front night sight and blacked-out serrated rear sight out of the box. In addition, the M&P9 Carry Comp slides incorporate aggressively angled front and rear serrations to increase reliability and improve manipulation against tougher elements.

More from Smith & Wesson: “Whether you’re looking for a new everyday carry, home defense or training pistol, this new series has you covered. Built across full-size, compact and micro-compact frames, Carry Comp Series pistols are chambered in 9 mm Luger and come in a variety of capacities.”

The M&P9 Carry Comp Shield Plus four-inch barrel model ships with 10-round, 13-round and 15-round magazines.

M&P Carry Comp
Smith & Wesson’s new Performance Center M&P9 M2.0 Carry Comp compact model (MSRP: $799) has a 4.22-inch stainless steel barrel, four interchangeable palmswell grip inserts and two 15-round magazines.

The M&P9 Carry Comp 2.0 4.22-inch barrel models are offered in metal and polymer frame configurations and have a 15-round capacity for the compact and 17 rounds for the full-size model. Both models ship with two magazines.

All new Smith & Wesson M&P9 Carry Comp models include flat-face trigger designs, grey Armornite finished slides, plus a Performance Center Cleaning Kit.

M&P9 Carry Comp series
The Smith & Wesson Performance Center M&P9 Carry Comp Shield Plus micro-compact pistol (MSRP: $649) includes a four-inch stainless steel barrel, stainless steel slide that’s ported and optics-ready, plus three magazines (10-, 13- and 15-round capacity).

MSRP for the M&P9 Carry Comp Shield Plus four-inch barrel model is $649, with the M&P9 Carry Comp 2.0 4.22-inch barrel models at $799 for the compact and $999 for the full-size version.
