Robert Feldmeyer, 46, of Queen Creek, Arizona, made his mark at the 2024 CMP Western Games after logging three new pistol event records through his outstanding performances.

The 2024 CMP Western Games, held at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in Phoenix, Arizona, from October 7-13, showcased a mix of rifle and pistol competitions and learning opportunities for individuals of all experience levels.

Feldmeyer’s records came in the Metallic categories of the .22 Rimfire Aggregate (822-17X), Centerfire Aggregate (797-14X) and the overall Pistol 2700 Aggregate (2409-49X). Additionally, he recorded overall wins in the Revolver EIC Pistol Match (361-9X) and the 1911 Pistol event (377-14X), where he is already the current record holder.

Also setting records of their own in the pistol matches were Jordan Kramp, 44, of Fairfield, California, who broke his own record in the .22 Rimfire Any Sights Match (874-37X), as well as George Siordian, 61, of Phoenix, Arizona, who set a new record in the .45 Metallic Sights Aggregate (794-15X).

Kramp went on to lead the EIC Pistol Match (273-8X). He set the current record for the match in 2022.

In rifle events, filled with more recreational-oriented matches, James Huetteman, 42, of Fort Worth, Texas, fired a score of 376-6X for a new record in the Carbine Match.

Other noteworthy performances on the firing line were posted by Julia Watson-Carlson, 48, of Lehi, Utah, who claimed wins in the Garand and Modern Military rifle events, as well as Samuel Hartsock, 66, of West Olive, Michigan, who earned the Three- and Four-Gun Aggregate honors for his consistent exceptional scores.

The Cup Matches, featuring high power rifle events, saw Jeffrey Mikesell, 49, of Gilbert, Arizona, leading the Mid-Range 3x600 Match with a score of 598-29X in the Match Rifle category, as Joel Sylvia, 54, of Prescott Valley, Arizona, topped the Service Rifle category leaderboard with 597-20X.

Craig VanHyning, 58, of Florence, Arizona, led the Mid-Range F-Class T/R field with 518-4X, while Watson-Carlson returned to earn a winning score of 581-16X in AR Tactical.

Fox also joined up with partner Joel Sylvia to win the Two-Person Rifle Match, with a score of 566-19X.

In the 2400 Aggregate Match Rifle category, David Friedman, 40, of Glendale, Arizona, set a new record score of 2330-58X—shattering the previous record of 2251-45X set in 2022.
