Hap Trophy 1

Last year to much sadness, prolific Shooting Sports USA author and champion smallbore competitor Harold “Hap” Rocketto lost his battle with cancer. To recognize Hap’s skills as a competitive rifle shooter, his endless effort to promote competitive rifle shooting and his adeptness at capturing the achievements of those involved in the shooting sports, both past and present, a new trophy has been commissioned in his honor.

Donated by a small group of New England rifle competitors, the trophy is a bright polished pewter loving cup with matching base. The award is for the High National Conventional Smallbore Prone Team aggregate score taken from the Metallic and Any Sight Conventional Prone Team scores fired at Camp Atterbury. All smallbore prone teams with the same firing members for both phases are eligible to compete for the award each year, as the trophy will always be in competition as part of NRA’s Permanent Trophy collection.
