Federal Ammunition’s new Gold Medal CenterStrike .223 Remington loads with 77-grain open-tip match bullets are currently shipping to dealers. This new .223 Remington match load joins the previously released .308 Winchester and 6.5 mm Creedmoor match loads in the Gold Medal CenterStrike lineup that have been shipping since earlier this year.

Features common to all Federal Premium Gold Medal CenterStrike ammunition include the aforementioned precision-built open-tip match bullets, along with a high ballistic coefficient design, Gold Medal primers and brass, plus a specially formulated propellant. In addition, they are held to Federal’s tightest specifications for accuracy, pressure and velocity.
Velocity from the muzzle for the new Federal Gold Medal CenterStrike .223 Rem. 77-grain match load is 2,720 f.p.s., dropping to 2,471 f.p.s. at 100 yards and 2,012 f.p.s. at 300 yards. As for energy, from the muzzle it’s 1,265 foot-pounds, then 1,044 foot-pounds at 100 yards and down to 692 foot-pounds at 300 yards.
