Six-time Olympic gold medalist and NRA Board Member Kim Rhode was a force to reckon with at the 2019 ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Acapulco, Mexico, winning the gold medal in Women's Skeet after a memorable final. This marks the 19th World Cup gold medal for Rhode.

After qualification, she entered the final in third place with 121 of 125 targets over two days. Notably, Rhode's last set before going into the final was perfect, with 50 of 50 targets.

She didn't stay in third place for long. During the final Rhode nailed 57 of 60 targets just one short of the finals world record she set in April last year.

"I had an 'old school power 50' going into the Final today," Rhode told USA Shooting in a press release, adding, "It was super hot and windy, but I was able to win the gold! It was awesome having Sam out there as she shot well and was a true champion powering through the flu."

The Sam that Rhode is referring to is teammate Sam Simonton, who set a qualification world record with 123 targets. She also broke the junior world record. Once in the final, Simonton was eliminated with 25 targets hit, landing her in fifth place.

No quota slots were earned, as the U.S. already won the maximum number of Women's Skeet Olympic quotas at the 2018 World Championship last summer in Changwon, South Korea.
