Team USA’s Caitlin Connor, Austen Smith and Dania Vizzi took the silver medal in the Women’s Skeet Team event at the 2022 ISSF World Cup competition held May 27 to June 7 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The Women’s Skeet Team silver medal came to the trio of U.S. shooters after a close final against German skeet shooters Nadine Messerschmidt, Nele Wissmer and Christine Wenzel. Tied at five apiece in the final, in the shoot-off Team USA fell by one target.

Team USA was in the top spot after the conclusion of the qualification rounds with a score of 216. Caitlin Connor led the way with 73 targets, followed by Austen Smith with 72 targets and Dania Vizzi with 71. Their combined score was five points ahead of Team Germany, which was in second place heading into the gold medal final.

Taking third place was Team Kazakhstan after defeating Team Thailand 6-2 in the bronze medal final.

USA Shooting departed the 2022 ISSF World Cup Baku with a total haul of eight medals, including four golds.
