Springfield Armory’s new Hellcat Pro Comp OSP handgun chambered in 9 mm Luger sports an integral compensator and milled slide to accept red-dot optics. Described by the company as “meticulously engineered to offer the perfect balance between concealability and capacity,” this compact pistol not only offers improved performance, but also provides a capacity of 15+1 rounds in a small footprint, along with an included 17-round extended magazine. The USA Clay Target League has scores of student-athletes competing on school-based clay target teams around the country, with more than 52,000 shooters this year alone. Much more than just a competitive shooting organization, the USA Clay Target League prides itself on the life lessons these kids are learning to improve themselves, including responsibility and safety. Author Maggie Kelch shares her inside look at the USA Clay Target League after speaking with high school student-athletes at a competition held in Ohio this past May.

Winchester introduced the Model 77 semi-automatic rimfire chambered in .22 Long Rifle back in 1955. In his article about this classic rifle, Field Editor Art Merrill describes the Model 77 as “a peevish .22 with M1 Carbine DNA.” Learn more about this classic rifle which had a short production run of about 217,000 units from 1955 to 1963.

This year’s Daisy BB Gun National Championships, held in Rogers, Ark., in July, may have been the best in the competition’s 57-year history. A five-meter, four-position (standing, sitting, kneeling and prone) NRA-sanctioned match, teams of youth shooters ages eight to 15 from around the country compete at the Daisy BB Gun Nationals each year. Recognizing the importance of this match, The NRA Foundation provided new laptops and scanners to help this year’s match staff score targets and scan the all-important safety tests.
