Ace Virtual Shooting and Staccato joined forces to announce the new Staccato HD P4 handset for the popular VR handgun shooting simulator prior to SHOT Show 2025 in Las Vegas last month.
The licensed Staccato HD P4 handset made its big debut at Staccato Range Day 2025 held at Staccato Vegas (formerly PrairieFire Nevada) in Pahrump, Nevada, in January not long after the debut of the actual HD P4 handgun. Shooting Illustrated Executive Editor Jay Grazio was there and had the chance to try out the new handset. Watch the video above.

The Ace Virtual Shooting Staccato HD P4 handset mimics key features of the actual HD P4 handgun, including an authentic trigger feel (four- to 4½-pound trigger pull weight with audible break and reset), a functional magazine release button, plus ambidextrous controls and forward-mounted iron sights similar to the real firearm. In addition, when paired with a Meta Quest controller, the HD P4 handset weighs roughly two pounds, about the same as the real-life Staccato HD P4, which tips the scales at approximately 32 ounces.
It’s also easy to install without tools. There is a spring-loaded rear hook point for simple installation and removal on Meta Quest controllers.

Besides the Staccato HD P4 handset, Ace Virtual Shooting also lists the Staccato P, SIG Sauer P365 XMacro and Arctus handsets on its website. Regarding the latter, the grip angle and ergonomics are similar to a SIG P320 handgun and the muzzle mimics that of Springfield Armory’s Echelon pistol.
Ace Virtual Shooting’s Staccato HD P4 handset is made in Texas. Price starts at $199. In conjunction with an Ace Club membership, the new handset can be used on all shooting stages available on the Ace VR platform. Learn more at acexr.com.
