The International Defensive Pistol Association headquarters in Bogota, Texas, recently announced that the 2024 IDPA National Championship match will be held at the CMP Marksmanship Park in Talladega, Ala., August 15-17, 2024.
The International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) is the governing body of a shooting sport that simulates self-defense scenarios and real-life encounters. It was founded in 1996 as a response to the desires of shooters worldwide. The organization now boasts a membership of more than 23,000—including members in 75 foreign countries.
This Tier 5 National Championship will host competitive shooters from around the nation that will participate in defensive-minded IDPA stages over three days of competition.
IDPA recently held its 2023 World Championship at the same venue this past October.
More about the park hosting the 2024 IDPA National Championship: “The CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park, ‘the Home of Marksmanship,’ is where responsible firearm ownership, safety instruction and accuracy training reside inside a beautiful 500-acre range facility.”
“We have a great relationship with all the wonderful staff at CMP and we’re excited to be back in Talladega this year,” IDPA Executive Director Joyce Wilson said. “We can’t wait to see what Match Director Frank Strong brings to this year’s championship match at this impressive facility. The range is amazing, and our competitors really enjoy IDPA matches at CMP.”
