The 2022 Grand American World Trapshooting Championship will be held August 3-13 at the World Shooting and Recreational Complex in Sparta, Illinois. This year's tournament marks the 123rd time that Amateur Trapshooting Association competitors have gathered to determine the world's greatest trapshooter.

Here is what ATA President F. Darryl Hayes said about the planning for this year's Grand American tournament:

"Football has the Super Bowl; baseball has the World Series and trapshooting has the Grand American. This is the only World Championship of our sport. If you win here, you are a world champion. During the 11 days of this tournament, many new world champions will be crowned, and many thousands of fond memories and stories will be taken back to all corners of the world."

As for prize money payouts, ATA spreads the Grand American awards around with percentage systems, class purses, Lewis Class, yardage groups and high-gun prizes.

Pre-squadding for the 2022 Grand American will open June 20 at the ATA website and will close on July 24. A single shooter can squad for only one position in each event.
