This year, Lapua will support the inaugural Monarch Cup smallbore silhouette competition as title sponsor. Along with the NRA Silhouette Nationals, the Monarch Cup is recognized as a "must-attend" championship series in the world of silhouette shooting.

In a nutshell, the Lapua Monarch Cup is a series of smallbore silhouette shooting matches hosted in three different countries: the United States, Canada and Mexico. Competitors can earn points from each match within their respective classification (Master, AAA, AA and A), giving all shooters the opportunity for a cash prize purse totaling $25,000. The overall series champion will receive a $5,000 cash prize and a Lapua Monarch Cup championship ring.

Smallbore silhouette is just a shooter and the targets, which in this game are steel chickens, pigs, turkeys and rams. The shooters, standing and unsupported, fire at four banks of silhouettes at distances of 40, 60, 77 and 100 meters. Smallbore silhouette is a challenging discipline that is open to all shooters—male and female, young and old.

The first match on the schedule is the Canadian Metallic Silhouette National Championship in Cranbrook, British Columbia, from June 28-30, 2020.

Next will be the NRA Smallbore Silhouette National Championship in Ridgway, PA on August 9-11, 2020.

Finally, the Lapua Monarch Cup Championship will be held in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, on October 3-4, 2020.
